Reaching a 5th birthday milestone is a momentous occasion for any start up business. The Small Business Association states that 50% of business will survive the first five years, so we’re over the moon to be celebrating this birthday and it’s all thanks to you, our customers! We wanted to make a full weekend of it (because is it really a birthday if it doesn’t last multiple days?) so not only did we hold a talk at FINDRA HQ, but also hosted a social mountain bike ride and walk around the Innerleithen hills.
FINDRA and the Everyday Adventure
Our Kendal panel talk went down so well we wanted to bring it to the local people of the Scottish Borders. We had Jo Moseley, Graham Kelly and Dee Hollingsbee as our panel (Graeme Walker was sadly ill so couldn’t join us on the night) with our very own Alex Feechan hosting the panel.
We built upon our discussion of time management, prioritising getting outside over other parts of life, challenging your own labels over whether you’re a “cyclist” or “runner” and whether this limits you, and the wider issue of menopause.
We had some great audience participation with lots of nodding, agreement and hands up. Thank you to everybody who was involved and came along for a wonderful evening including bubbles and nibbles.
Social Mountain Bike Ride and Social Walk
Sunday 1st December (our actual birthday!) started with absolutely fantastic weather, including a thick frost to look like snow. This didn’t deter a hardy group of friends of FINDRA who rolled up to HQ ready to head out on their bikes or by foot. They’re made of strong stuff around here!
Each group made the most of the clear blue sky and crisp ground to extend their ride and walk a little further, then returned to HQ for cake and coffee (and to warm those fingers and toes!). We were very lucky to have a birthday cake and cupcakes made for everybody which went down extremely well!
Thank you to everybody who made our birthday weekend such a success. It was an absolute joy to spend time with our customers and brand ambassadors and we can’t wait for what 2020 brings us.
