Here at FINDRA, we’re always looking to bring you snippets of motivation to get you inspired for your own everyday adventures. Our very own Alex Feechan was on the Mother of All Movement Podcast this week, so we thought we’d bring you some of Alex’s personal inspirations.
The Mother of All Movement, run by Kathryn Meadows, aims to “inspire and inform mothers from any stage, and to chat about the trials and tribulations of moving your body after having your kids”. Kathryn asked Alex on for episode 32 as part of a mini-series exploring the barriers clothing options may cause to women taking part in sport, exercise or movement choices.
“This week I spoke to Alex Feechan, CEO and Founder of Findra an outdoor clothing company based in Scotland. Originally a knitwear designer with a love of mountain biking, Alex realised the clothing on offer to female mountain bikers was woefully inadequate and insulting, the “pink it and shrink it” method just didn’t cut it. So Alex decided to do something about it and designed her own range of merino clothing which was flattering, functional and not pink!”
Kathryn herself has a background as a sports massage therapist and post-natal movement with pilates and has her own studio in West Sussex. You can read more about Kathryn over on her website, or enjoy other episodes of her podcast through this link.

Quote of the Week
Artist of the Week
Alex has told us that one of her favourite artists, and one who inspired FINDRA’s style, is Andy Goldsworthy. Andy is a British sculptor now living in Scotland, who produces site-specific sculptures and land art situated in natural and urban settings. He takes a lot of his own inspiration from the natural world – often his art includes brightly coloured flowers, leaves, mud, pinecones, snow, stone, twigs, and thorns, and you can see from the image below that the colours and proportions of this pebble piece inspired Alex’s idea for the Marin!

Music of the Week
We’re building a FINDRA Community Playlist over on Spotify, bringing you music of a rather eclectic variety! From classic dance tunes to lesser-known indie songs, we hope there’s something new in there for you. If you’ve got a favourite you’d like to hear in the playlist, drop us a tweet!
One of Alex’s favourite designers is Alexander McQueen. 2018 saw the release of a documentary on his life which featured some of the most evocative music around, composed by Michael Nyman. Alex told us she was moved by the soundtrack and it perfectly reflected the spirit of Alexander McQueen
Whatever you’re up to this week, friends, remember to find your everyday adventure.
Love, Team FINDRA x
