FINDRA’s Weekly Inspiration: Pack Light, Adventure More

Here at FINDRA, we’re always looking to bring you snippets of motivation to get you inspired for your own everyday adventures. There’s still plenty of time for summer adventures and we think it’s always best to travel light! Alex, aka Ms FINDRA, recently told us how she packs her luggage away. It was a completely new way of packing to the rest of us, and we just had to film it and show you all!

Packing Light with FINDRA

Queen of packing light, Alex shows us how it’s done! Just add underwear and shoes for a week’s worth of adventure clothing.

Included:

3 x tops (Iona, Orla, Isla)

1 x shorts (Relaxed fit in Nine Irons)

1 x headband

1 x socks

1 x beanie

1 x jacket (Stroma)

Tips & Benefits of Travelling Light

1/. Be deliberate with what you take. If you need to take a pair of shorts, take your favourite and not that extra pair *just in case*. Leave out the things you might need, and only pack the things you know you use regularly.

2/. Everything has its place and is easily accessible. The worst thing is not being able to find what you’re looking for in your bag and having to unpack it all at the airport or in a taxi. If you carry less, everything can have its place in your bag.

3/. Take out the guesswork and write lists. Instead of going through your belongings and deciding what to pack, write a list and source each item. Don’t be tempted to add in extra possessions when you realise you’ve made more room by missing out those unnecessary shoes!

4./ If you can walk everywhere with your light backpack, you can discover more of where you are. Travel is so often about experience over things and travelling light can help facilitate those spontaneous experiences and discoveries!

5./ Leave your laptop behind. Our phones now double up as a camera, a book and a TV. If a laptop isn’t strictly related to why you’re travelling (i.e. for work), then leave it behind and lessen the load.

Light Packing Adventures

Our brand ambassadors, Rich and Tom, are heading off to cycle the Tour Divide and they are taking packing light to the extreme! When travelling off road by bike, every ounce you can save makes the journey that little bit more enjoyable. Everything has a deliberate place and you’ll not take an unnecessary item!

Follow their journey over on their Twitter and Instagram!

Music of the Week

We’re building a FINDRA Community Playlist over on Spotify, bringing you music of a rather eclectic variety! From classic dance tunes to lesser-known indie songs, we hope there’s something new in there for you. If you’ve got a favourite you’d like to hear in the playlist, drop us a tweet!

This anthem by Jose Gonzalez was made particularly famous by the film The Secret Life of Walter Mitty. We don’t know about you, but it makes us want to drop everything and run to the hills, to travel the world and to explore the lesser travelled places. If you haven’t seen the film yet, you really should!

Whatever you’re up to this week, friends, remember to find your everyday adventure.

Love, Team FINDRA x
