Quote of the Week
Book of the Week
“In this revelatory account of his life, Simon gives the full story behind some of his favourite expeditions, and traces his own inspiring personal journey back to leaving school without qualifications, teetering on a bridge, and then overcoming his challenges by climbing to a ‘Lost Valley’ and changing his life … step by step.”
The TV Adventurer, Simon Reeve has become a staple of British TV traveling to some of the world’s most incredible places. It’s easy to assume that the life of a famous TV presenter has always been wonderful. However, in this candid autobiography, he details his struggles with mental health as a young teenager, and how the outdoors helped him find a way through the darkness.
“For Reeve, it was simply a desire to keep going that eventually helped him rebuild his life. Following that night on the bridge, he decided to take a trip to Glencoe and hiked up a mountain in the Scottish Highlands. He started volunteering in charity shops and applying for any job he could find – ‘step by step’ became a mantra.” – The Telegraph.
Age is Just a Barrier
There are an awful lot of inspirational young travelers across social media, but let’s not forget those who are enjoying their retirement and traveling the world!

If you’re looking for some inspiration, or even just proof that age doesn’t need to hold you back from exploring some seemingly inaccessible parts of the world, then look no further than the Life Part 2 blog.
But why stop there? Here’s a list of 30 – yes THIRTY – travel blogs written by people over the age of 50. Best get reading now and start planning your next adventure!
Music of the Week
We’re building a FINDRA Community Playlist over on Spotify, bringing you music of a rather eclectic variety! From classic dance tunes to lesser-known indie songs, we hope there’s something new in there for you. If you’ve got a favourite you’d like to hear in the playlist, drop us a tweet!
Our traveler Team FINDRA member, Helen, told us that this was her first dance at her wedding last year in Yosemite National Park, California. It’s always wonderful to go travelling, but great to come back home.
Whatever you’re up to this week, friends, remember to find your everyday adventure.
Love, Team FINDRA x
