One of the biggest enduro events in the Scottish race calendar took place in our local trails last weekend: Tweedlove’s King & Queen of the Hill. Our friend Nic Fell was racing in FINDRA for the first time so we caught up with her to find out how the race went.
“It was a tough race, a long course with technical trails. Stage 1 was a complete disaster for me with so much mud and I made too many mistakes. When I got to the bottom I knew I hadn’t ridden well but also knew I had to put it behind me and move on. Stage 2 was steep, technical and fast. This was probably my favourite stage of the day, we all gathered at the feeding station to chat about the first two stages. Stage 3 was a pedal fest and I was happy with my effort. Moving onto stage 4 fairly quickly (I was running out of time) which was short and sweet; an exhilarating end to the day.”
You’d think that bagging a podium stop would be a perfect end to the day. But you get the feeling that Nic is someone who really pushes herself, “I was happy to finish third but I can’t help thinking I could have done better.”
And the kit – how did that perform? “My FINDRA Ms-Mo Bike Shorts were super comfortable. I didn’t have to pull them up or fidget with them the whole day, they weren’t too baggy and moved with me really well. The perfect fit! My race top kept me at just the right temperature and – as the weather gods were kind to us – I got a crackin’ t-shirt tan!”
We’re really proud to be partnering with an inspiring female rider like Nic. She’s got three more races in the next couple of months and we look forward to supporting her in them all.
