Sports Business Innovation Awards 2015

Sports Business Innovation Awards 2015

Sporting Chance Initiative hosted a fantastic evening at the Glasgow Science Centre. I was delighted to have won the SBIA15 award of ‘Sports Entrepreneur’ of the Year.

I felt absolutely honoured to receive the award from Hinda Miller, until recently I was unaware of Hinda and the amazing work she has done to enable women to participate in sport. Hinda designed… the world’s first ever ‘Sports Bra’ called the ‘Jog Bra’ for females this changed the way women could participate in sport. Hinda was a costume designer back in the 70’s who loved running! Through participation in her sport of choice she realised her ability to perform to the best of her abilities was restricted due to the lack of suitable clothing!

Inspired by Jock straps of all things Hinda realised she could design and create a sports bra that would allow women to feel comfortable and ‘supported’ when participating in all sports activities! Inspired! Us girls owe so much to this inspirational female entrepreneur!
