Location: FINDRA Shop and Café, Innerleithen, Scottish Borders

Reporting to: Phil McDonald (Operations & Media Manager)

Hours: 29 hours per week

Pay: £13.50 per hour

FINDRA Shop 

Tuesday - 11:00 - 4:00

Wednesday - 10:00 - 4:30 

Thursday - 11:00 - 4:30 

Friday - 10:00 - 4:30 

Saturday - 11:00 - 4:30

Tuesdays may be split between FINDRA HQ in Walkerburn and the shop, depending on priorities and workload.

We are now looking for an enthusiastic, creative, and highly organised individual to join our team in a unique dual role that combines retail operations, content creation, and event coordination.

The Role

This is a varied and hands-on role that places you at the heart of the FINDRA customer experience.

You will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the FINDRA shop, while helping bring the brand to life through creating engaging social media content and organising and running memorable community events.

Your main point of contact will be Phil McDonald, Operations & Media Manager. You’ll also work closely with Shonagh Massie, Ecommerce Marketing Manager, supporting social content creation and digital storytelling across the FINDRA brand.

Key Responsibilities

Shop Management and Customer Experience

• Opening and closing the retail space. The cafe is opened and closed by the cafe staff. You will be responsible for the shop element of FINDRA. You will set up the point of sale equipment each day and ensure it is charged each evening 

• Maintaining exceptional shop standards, ensuring displays are visually inspiring, clean, and on brand

• Keeping stock areas, crates, storage boxes, and back-of-house spaces organised, tidy, and efficient

• Replenishing stock and ensuring products are merchandised beautifully. Phil will ensure that the stock to be replenished is delivered each week. Phil will manage the transfer and stock movement. You will be responsible for putting stock away in the correct locations and stickering any new display stock

• Monitoring stock levels and communicating any issues to the wider team

You will be the face of FINDRA for visitors to our Innerleithen space, welcoming both new and loyal customers in a warm, friendly, and authentic manner. This includes:

• Engaging customers in conversation about the FINDRA brand, products, and ethos

• Providing knowledgeable product advice and styling guidance

• Delivering exceptional customer service at all times

• Supporting customer service enquiries in store, including exchanges, refunds, repair bookings, click and collect orders, product queries, and aftercare advice

Content Creation

• Capturing short form video content for social media reels/stories- up to 5 reels per week

• Taking photographs of products, customers, events, and day-to-day moments

• Creating behind-the-scenes content for both the shop and café space

Identifying opportunities for spontaneous, authentic storytelling

• Sharing content ideas with the wider marketing team

• Ensuring all content aligns with the FINDRA brand values, visual identity, and campaign activity

Event Planning and Community Engagement

• Working with the team to brainstorm new event ideas

• Helping plan, schedule and run exhibitions, book talks, guest speaker events, workshops, and community gatherings

• Liaising with artists, authors, speakers, and collaborators.

• Creating promotional content for upcoming events

• Supporting ticketing, guest communication, and event logistics

• Being present during after-hours events to help ensure everything runs smoothly

• Capturing and creating content during events for future promotion

Desirable Experience

• Previous retail or premium retail experience

• Creating social media content with a proven portfolio of reels/stories

• Experience planning/delivering events

• An interest in the outdoors, sustainability, and women’s lifestyle brands

• Photography, videography, and editing skills
