Marion Shoote
Mountaineer, runner, cyclist & snowboarder
I’ve always loved being in the mountains and spend my free time outdoors getting muddy and windswept. I’m a passionate mountaineer, runner, cyclist and snowboarder and love exploring new corners of the globe; I’ve mountaineered on six continents and cycled on four.
My recent trips include cycling the Pamir Highway in Tajikistan and across Eastern Tibet, splitboard touring the Chilean volcanoes, and bike packing the Altai mountains across Kazakhstan, Mongolia, China and Russia . I’ve lived in Chamonix, British Columbia and New Zealand, as well as the UK, dividing my time between my bike and snowboard, always looking for new adventures. Back home in the Scottish Borders, I race bikes and run in the hills, and in the winter I love exploring the Highlands on my snowboard.
I’m happiest when I’m flying down a fast winding singletrack on my bike, pounding ridgelines in the sunshine, and getting fresh tracks on my snowboard. I’m in love with the Scottish wilderness, particularly the mountains of the far northwest and our magical coastline.
I think FINDRA’s ethos of collective positivity is really inspiring. Women being awesome at life, fulfilling their potential as athletes, and enjoying themselves in the process. I’m proud to be part of it, and am looking forward to the next adventure!
