A word from Neil on his artwork:

'In September I took myself to Seville. Drawn by the light, colour, warmth and by flamenco. I brought along a sketchbook, pastels and watercolours. When I got home, I immersed myself in trying to capture the vibrancy of those experiences. And then I looked around me at our Tweed Valley where autumn was turning everything into startling colours: lit up or cast in dramatic shadow by those mercurial Scottish skyscapes.

I spent the following weeks scrabbling to capture what I felt and saw, before autumn died, to be replaced by drab winter greens and browns. Entirely redeemed now and then with visitations of snowy brilliance.'
