FINDRA's Weekly Inspiration: Riding Through Life

FINDRA's Weekly Inspiration: Riding Through Life

Here at FINDRA, we’re always looking to bring you snippets of motivation to get you inspired for your own everyday adventures. This week in the UK, it is Bike Week. Delivered by Cycling UK, Bike Week is an annual celebration to showcase cycling. Riding a bike can easily be a part of everyday life and Bike Week is here to inspire people all over the UK to give cycling a try.

Bike Week 2019

bike week

The theme of this year's Bike Week is about experiencing 'everyday' cycling - whether that's riding your bike to work, school, to the shops or just for leisure - to show how easily it can be part of your daily life. Here at FINDRA, we fully support the notion of just getting out on your bike, no matter how far or where you go. Our products cross the boundary between activewear and stylish everyday wear - you can go from the bike to the shop to the pub in the same outfit!

There are events happening all over the UK, so head over to the Cycling UK website to see what's going on near you!

Cycling UK is also encouraging everybody to get out and share their experiences on social media. They challenge you to ride your bike 7 times during Bike Week (8th - 16th June) and post a photo or a video, tagging it with #7daysofcycling. Learn more about their 7 Days of Cycling challenge here.

Poem of the Week

A WANDERER – Hashim ZK

For a while, I ride my life.
I reflect on my thoughts.
I wander into a different world.
I chase stars.

For a while, I own the dream.
I feel the warmth of the Sun.
I meander on the roads.
I feel the spell.

For a while, I chart my destiny.
I engineer my journey.
I flaunder with joy.
I race the winds.

For a while, I live.
On my wheels.

Why We Love to Ride

Cycling group at Cademuir forest

To celebrate all things bikes, we asked the cyclists of Team FINDRA what it was that they loved the most about riding their bike and where that passion came from. Everybody has a different answer - from the freedom to the friendships to the thrill of it - but it all comes down to having a choice. An option to make new friends, to ditch the car, to making time for yourself away from the noise and responsibilities the rest of life brings. A way of getting outside and back to nature.  Last year we interviewed our CEO Alex Feechan, brand ambassador Dee Hollingsbee, and marketing manager Cat Worsey. The last 12 months has brought us a new cyclist in the form of Helen Langridge - you can read her 'Why I Ride' blog, here.

Why do you ride? Drop us a tweet to tell us!

Music of the Week

We’re building a FINDRA Community Playlist over on Spotify, bringing you music of a rather eclectic variety! From classic dance tunes to lesser-known indie songs, we hope there’s something new in there for you. If you’ve got a favourite you’d like to hear in the playlist, drop us a tweet!

With this week's bicycle theme, there's no choice but this classic by Queen. Is it possible to sing anything else when you're itching to get out on your bike? We can't think of an alternative, it's sung out frequently at FINDRA HQ!

Whatever you’re up to this week, friends, remember to find your everyday adventure.

Love, Team FINDRA x
